Tony Yuen and his SR Auto Group colleagues from Richmond, B.C. will take their victorious customized Scion xB to the world’s premier automotive products trade show in Las Vegas next month
(MONTREAL) – In the winter they had to submit their designs. They found out in the spring that they had been named finalists. Then three ultra-talented teams of tuners spent the summer getting their creations ready, before finally being able to show off their masterpieces at Importfest in Toronto this past August.

Today, at Importfest in Montreal, a champion was finally crowned.

Tony Yuen and seven teammates from Richmond, B.C. won for their unique Project Anarchy, which involved stunning Scion xB modifications including DL Style B-Magic body kit and spoiler, modulare M23 19” wheels and a host of custom touches, such as hand-painted Eccentric Blue lug nuts, and full-black suede interior set off by blue LED accent lighting and a 32” LED LCD TV.
Judging was done on a 150 point scale with marks awarded in six categories including exterior body, engine, interior and audio, and an additional 18 subcategories.

“Scion is about expressing your personal style, and these cars show that you are limited only by your imagination,” said Larry Hutchinson, Director of Scion in Canada. “Each of these three vehicles went beyond expectations in creating breathtaking results from imaginative finalists.”

In November, SR Auto Group and their car will head to Las Vegas, to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), the world’s premier automotive products trade show.  The team also receives a $5,000 cash prize.

In addition to the announcement of the official contest winner, Team TDS was named the “People’s Choice” recipient, based on the largest proportion of votes cast by members of the public online and in person at Importfest in Toronto and Montreal.

Arthur Chiang and six teammates from Toronto, ON were picked as the “people’s choice” for their Project Chocolate Love, which involved Scion tC modifications including custom-fabricated wheel arch over-fenders, rear diffuser, exhaust system with powder-coated gold exhaust tip, trunk-lid spoiler and turbo system, as well as an entertainment system with mobile video screens, head unit, speakers, amps and subwoofers.

The other finalist was the tandem of Shawn O’Donnell and Benoit St-Cyr from Lachine, Quebec, whose Project Kryptonite involved Scion xD modifications including a TRD body kit, spoiler, exhaust and air intake, and custom lighting inside and out, as well as an in-dash multi-media centre backed up by a subwoofer with a custom box set-up.

As finalists, each team was each given a different Scion model to modify, along with $10,000 and unlimited access to Scion and TRD accessories for their modifications.
